Behind the scenes

[...], a book with five hundred blank pages. [...]: as long as that book exists you will be immortal. Nothing will be able to kill you, no disease, no weapons - as long as the book remains intact.

The Piper, also known as "Silvernose", was once one of Capricorn's fire-raisers before Mortimer Folchart read his leader out of the Inkworld. He was a minstrel of Adderhead's court.

BiographyModify the text

The Piper earned his nick-name because his nose was made entirely of silver; a gift from Adderhead after his own nose was cut off. He was Capricorn's servant before serving the Adderhead. The Piper threatened to send all the children in Ombra to the silver mines unless the women hand over the Bluejay, causing dismay, fury, and fear.[1] This caused the children to be hidden and Mo to turn himself in so that he could save the children and have a chance to destroy the White Book and write the three words in it after the Adderhead came to visit. The Piper caused many uncalled for disruptions in Ombra. He was killed after the death of the Adderhead, when Resa distracted him and Mo thrusted his dagger into the Piper's chest.

Behind the scenesModify the text

He is based on Tycho Brahe,[citation needed] who had the bridge of his nose cut off in a duel with his third cousin, replacing it with a metal one. He is skinny and cuts peoples heads off.
